About the event
Have you ever found yourself walking along a lake and wondering what it might be like to swim in it? Join me for an introductory session in partnership with the National Trust to learn about safe and enjoyable wild swimming in the Lake District!
You don’t need any prior wild swimming experience but you must be able to swim. This is not a swimming lesson, nor is it an opportunity for training or coaching. During this session we swim breaststroke. You should be able to tread water and feel comfortable swimming out of your depth. Check with me before booking if you have any concerns about your ability level.
Based in Crummock Water, you can expect a short walk down to the lake and an explanation of water safety, and how swimmers can minimise our impact on the environment. The swim is not measured in distance but it is timed to ensure your comfort and safety. Afterwards, refreshments are provided.
Wetsuits are optional depending on weather conditions and if you need one, this is included in the price. Wetsuits must be requested in advance. Post-swim refreshments are included in the cost.
A suggested packing list and the meeting point will be sent by email after booking. Please note the google pin on the website information does not show the meeting point, merely an indication of the general area. The exact meeting point will be emailed to you separately.
Maximum group size: 6
Minimum group size: 4. If the minimum group size is not reached you can transfer to another session, or your ticket can be refunded.
Dogs welcome? Please check with me if you would like to bring your dog.
Children welcome? No, this event is not suitable for under 18s.
